Panichi Family Honored at WMCHealth Gala

Panichi Family Honored at WMCHealth Gala

6/28/2016

(L-R) Paul Hochenberg, Executive Director, MidHudson Regional Hospital; Gloria Cukar, Senior Director, External Affairs, MidHudson Regional Hospital; Evelyn Constantino, Royal Carting; Jim Constantino, Teahen & Constantino LLP.

Dutchess County's own Emil and Emily Panichi and Jim and Evelyn Constantino were honored on June 4 as more than 600 people attended the 37th Annual Westchester Medical Center Gala to benefit MidHudson Regional Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, and all members of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network. The event was held at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx.

The Panichi and Constantino families were each presented with the Spirit of Giving Award for their work in supporting the Panichi Family Center For Communication and Learning in Beacon.

In the early 2000s, Evelyn recognized the need for the complete renovation and expansion of the Hudson Valley's only hospital-based special needs program for children aged 18 months to five years, and the Panichi Family Center for Communication and Learning was born.  Evelyn rallied her family for major initial financial support (she is Emil and Emily's daughter), later helped endow the future of the Center in 2010, and continues to be personally involved in its operations to this day – down to organizing a partnership with the nearby Dutchess Day School to provide artwork for the Center's walls.

Currently, Evelyn serves on MidHudson Regional Hospital's Board of Visitors, is a member of the Westchester Medical Center Foundation Board, and is responsible for championing several significant gifts to the hospital from key community organizations.  She is a co-owner of Royal Carting and Welsh Sanitation.  Jim is a partner in the Dutchess County law firm of Teahen & Constantino LLP, specializing in tax, trust, and estate planning law.

Emil and Emily Panichi have supported MidHudson Regional Hospital, previously known as Saint Francis Hospital, for over four decades.  Their total giving has eclipsed $1 million dollars, and they are the named benefactors behind the Panichi Family Center for Communication and Learning in Beacon.
